According to a national patient survey conducted last autumn, the majority of patients in Norrbotten, Sweden, are satisfied with their primary healthcare experiences. The survey results, released by Region Norrbotten on March 2, 2026, indicate that most patients feel well-treated by healthcare professionals at health and medical centers.

The survey shows that patients' experiences with primary care in Norrbotten generally align with the national average. Particularly high ratings were given to the treatment received from healthcare staff, including nurses, doctors, and other professional groups. Eight out of ten patients reported that their health concerns were taken seriously, while nine out of ten expressed satisfaction with their doctor's treatment.

Camilla Brännström, operations area manager for primary care within Region Norrbotten, stated that it is encouraging that so many patients feel well-treated and taken seriously, calling this 'the core of safe and secure care.'

While satisfaction with accessibility and continuity was somewhat lower, with patients reporting difficulties contacting their health centers and seeing the same doctor for multiple visits, approximately seven out of ten patients remained satisfied even in these areas. The highest satisfaction levels were observed during visits with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nurses.
