The Administrative Court has ruled that gold and platinum bars worth approximately 13 million kronor, discovered in an attic in Mölndal, will be released to their claimants. According to court documents, the valuable metals were found by construction workers in autumn 2023 during renovation work on a property.
The court determined that the gold and platinum should be handed over to YouTube personalities Carl Déman and Lucas Simonsson from the comedy group JLC, along with the estate that sold them the house. Judge Erik Ljungquist stated in the ruling that it is now probable that the company and the estate are the owners or rightful claimants of the property.

The discovery consisted of 100 gold bars and 40 platinum bars, which have been held in police custody pending the court's decision. The metals were found hidden in the attic of the Mölndal property that Déman and Simonsson had purchased through their property management company.
Both TV4 Nyheterna and Svenska Dagbladet reported on the court's decision, which brings to a close a lengthy legal dispute over ownership of the valuable discovery. The ruling cites existing legislation requiring that property be returned to those who are owners or have other legal rights to it and who have made claims on it.
