Conegliano advanced to the Champions League semifinals after winning a quarterfinal match against Ankara in Ankara. The Swedish volleyball star Isabelle Haak reportedly did not play even half the match but still scored 14 points. Conegliano reportedly led 2-0 after two sets, securing the quarterfinal tie, and then substituted several of its biggest stars, including Haak.
Ankara reportedly won the match 3-2, but it was to no avail as Conegliano had won the first meeting in straight sets. Conegliano now has the chance to become the first women's team to win the Champions League three years in a row in its current form. Haak has reportedly been named the most valuable player of the finals in both of the last two editions.
The finals will be held in Istanbul.
