According to multiple reports, the committee rejected the roofed pitch at Hälsans hus due to significant limitations at the site, including zoning restrictions, shoreline protection, uncertain ground conditions, flood risk, existing utilities, limited public transport, and traffic sensitivity. The committee has now tasked the administration with investigating year-round use of the pitch, including building walls and a roof, with a deadline of April 29. The investigation will cover investment and operating costs and include dialogue with sports clubs, according to committee chair Evelina Rydeker (MP).
In other decisions, the committee allowed the new artificial turf in Arcushallen to remain throughout 2026, even during events. It approved an investigation into a possible honor and memory place, with a cost estimate of 1.5 million SEK for construction and 100,000 SEK annually for maintenance. New guidelines for culture and leisure scholarships were set, with nomination periods changed to April 1–May 1 (with a 2026 exception of May 1–June 1) and awards in the autumn. The committee granted 700,000 SEK to Konstfrämjandet for a pre-study for Luleåbiennalen 2027, and approved start permits for outdoor gyms in Antnäs and Hertsön, expected to be ready in the second half of 2026. The 2025 annual report, including goal achievement, internal control, and financial accounts, was also approved.
