According to major media outlets, Charlie Carrick, 39, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, developed his acting passion after a school production of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. He studied at the Vancouver Film School, inspired by his grandfather who moved to Canada after the war. Carrick's mother was born in Canada, but the family later returned to Newcastle.
Carrick has appeared in numerous American and British productions including 'We Were Liars', 'Hidden Assets', 'Cedar Cove', 'Reign', ITV's 'Deep Water', 'COBRA', and 'Departure'. More recently, he featured in 'The Royal We', 'The Apprentice' movie, and 'The Copenhagen Test'. According to IMDb, he is set to star in 'Call Me Queen' and 'Stranger in Town', both in post-production.
In Atwood's novel, Commander Judd is rumoured to dispose of his wives and seek a younger woman. Visually and hierarchically, the character resembles Commander Fred Waterford, played by Joseph Fiennes. The number of episodes and exact premiere date for 'The Testaments' on Disney+ and Hulu have not been announced.
