  • Harriet Cowan left the show in May last year and has quit nursing
  • Cowan is pursuing TV projects and brand deals, including with Aldi

Prime Video announced that Clarkson's Farm will return with a new series on Wednesday 3 June, with episodes dropping weekly. In the upcoming season, Jeremy Clarkson concludes that sweeping changes are required to keep the farm running efficiently amid a government budget that throws UK farming into turmoil.

Harriet Cowan, who appeared on the show, departed Clarkson's Farm in May last year during the fourth season. According to major media reports, her temporary role as a farmhand ended when Kaleb Cooper returned from his tour. Cowan has since left her nursing job. According to Daily Express - Showbiz, Cowan described giving up nursing because she was recognised as "that girl off the telly" while attending to patients, which compromised her professionalism. She also said the stress of balancing social media, nursing, farming, and brand deals became too much, and that she did not need the money from nursing.

I've given up nursing because I was going into people's houses and I was getting recognised as that girl off the telly. I was supposed to be there as a professional nurse – there were people dying at the end of the day and I was supposed to be there as a professional.

Cowan is now working on several TV projects, which she described as "top secret" according to Daily Express - Showbiz. She has also secured advertising deals, with her biggest brand deal so far being with Aldi for British beef. Cowan said she is meeting Aldi next week but does not yet know what the campaign will involve.

It remains unclear whether Cowan will return for series 5 of Clarkson's Farm, and the specific details of her new TV projects and Aldi campaign have not been disclosed.

The stress of doing social media, being a nurse, a farmer and doing brand deals was too much. In black and white I don't need the money. I was working all week and I'd be earning 34k a year but I just did not need that, that was nothing you can earn in the social media game, I look at some things and think it's crazy. But you've got to do it...How many other people can say they can give that up at 24, to give up their job and go into full time farming which is all I've ever wanted to do.

I've got a few new TV things coming off too which I'm very excited about.

Aldi's the biggest (brand) yet, British beef. I'm seeing them next week – I don't know what they're getting me to do yet. I think I'm allowed to talk about it, it's good publicity for Aldi anyway!

I'm not allowed to say, you'll have to see. It's top secret.
