Google has updated its Chrome browser and introduced the ability to place the browser's tabs vertically in a separate tab menu on the left side of Chrome. Chrome now also gets a reading mode that removes animations and other distracting elements from the webpage to make the page more readable. The update rollout has begun, but it is unclear when exactly it will be available to all users globally.
Listing tabs vertically can be convenient for those who have many tabs open because it becomes easier to see what is under each tab instead of just an icon representing the current webpage. To activate the vertical tab menu, the user only needs to right-click in Chrome's current tab menu and choose to display them vertically. It is also not specified if there are any known issues or bugs with the new vertical tab or reading mode features, or how the vertical tab menu affects browser performance or memory usage.
The latest updates to Chrome have started rolling out now. However, the reporter has not yet received the update themselves, indicating that the deployment may be gradual or incomplete.
