According to SVT Västmanland, Philip Hanna described feelings of powerlessness and frustration over the mosquito issue, noting that the invasion last year made it unsustainable at the end of July and beginning of August at the camping pool's outdoor terrace. He fears a difficult summer due to mosquitoes and has tried to get Surahammar municipality to agree to enclose the terrace to handle rain, wind, and the insects. The municipality, however, has already done a major renovation of the kiosk, and Johanna Olofsson, the municipal council chairperson, stated that enclosing the terrace would cost around one million kronor.
According to SVT Västmanland, Olofsson described that the municipality had a very difficult time with mosquitoes in Surahammar during late summer. The municipality is continuously working on mosquito control, but it is unclear what specific measures are currently being implemented or planned. According to SVT Västmanland, Hanna described that while the municipality cannot perform magic during peak mosquito days, there is time to act, and the problem remains unsolved.

The municipality is in dialogue with Mälarenergi and the county administrative board because high water flows in Magsjön are a contributing factor to mosquitoes. It is unknown whether alternative solutions are being considered besides enclosing the terrace or how severe the mosquito problem is expected to be this summer compared to last year.
Now we understand that the municipality cannot come and perform magic during those days. But now we have time to do something about it. And we know that this problem is not solved.
