According to Haotong Li, he spent the previous night dealing with illness and feared he would be unable to complete 18 holes. Despite hitting his second shot into Rae’s Creek on the 13th hole, Li sits four shots off the lead.

Walking up 18 I was pretty confident that I couldn't mess it up enough that I wouldn't shoot my best score here – I mean, naturally I tried with a three-putt, so that was disappointing, to say the least. But I certainly would have taken six-under before I went out.

The nature of his illness and his recovery status are not confirmed. Scottie Scheffler shot a seven-under 65 in the second round to reach seven-under par for the tournament, with major media reporting it was the best round he has ever played in the Masters. He will be paired with Haotong Li in the final round.

According to The Guardian - Main UK, Scottie Scheffler described watching Rory McIlroy’s play on TV in the player facility on Friday evening as impressive. Scheffler added that great players rise to the occasion at major tournaments like the Masters. Tyrrell Hatton shot a six-under 66 in the second round to reach four-under par for the tournament, hitting every green in regulation during that round.

I was absolutely headless on seven yesterday because I had gone from essentially having a very good birdie opportunity to not only has it gone back in the bunker at speed, it's gone onto the flat, and then it's semi-buried itself. I was like, sick, I've got no chance. Not good.

According to The Independent - Sport, Tyrrell Hatton described walking up the 18th hole confident he would shoot his best score, though he was disappointed with a three-putt. He also expressed frustration from his first round, where his approach to the seventh hit the flagstick and spun back into a bunker, leading to a bogey. According to Daily Mirror - Main, Hatton described the greens as likely to get firmer and faster, making the final round challenging.

Justin Rose shot a three-under 69 in the second round to reach five-under par for the tournament. During that round, he tossed his putter in frustration on the fourth hole, causing minor damage to the green. Rose’s solid play kept him in contention, though his exact position relative to the leaders is not specified.

It was pretty special stuff.

Jason Day had a mixed third round, bogeying the first hole with a three-putt. According to Daily Mail - Sport, Jason Day described trying to keep up with Cameron Young, who had a strong start, and noted he was patient knowing opportunities would come. Day’s second shot on the 15th hole nearly went into the water but stayed up, leading to a birdie.

I think that's what great players do. They rise to the occasion when you are at the biggest tournaments, and you'd be hard pressed to find another tournament that's bigger than this one, especially for me.

Scottie Scheffler, Golfer

He added that statistically he averages four to five birdies per round and was fortunate the shot stayed up due to swirling winds. Wyndham Clark made three birdies in his first four holes during the second round, according to major media reports. Clark’s fast start contributed to his tournament position, though his overall score and standing are not provided.

The prize money and specific stakes for the final round leaders, along with detailed weather forecasts, remain unknown as the Masters heads into its decisive day.

Terrible question. Next question. Awful.

But I did what I needed to.

Scottie Scheffler, Golfer

I was playing with Cam Young today, who is co-leading currently and I was just trying to keep up with him. Obviously he had it going early and I had a pretty average start. I bogeyed the first hole with a three-putt, so you're just trying to steady the ship and just be patient. You know that opportunities will come.

Jason Day, Golfer

Statistically, I average around four to five birdies a round, so I just knew they were going to come. I just didn't know when they were going to come.

Jason Day, Golfer

I was trying to hit this high draw and I mis-hit it, and it stayed out there. I just didn't think. It's difficult because of where the wind, it's swirling everywhere and it's enough to manoeuvre the ball around enough to either pull a shot up short or make it go long. You just got to hit on the right gust. Obviously it's light and variable, that's the caddie's worst nightmare. Very fortunate it stayed up.
