Residents in Snarhem and Uttersberg, Västmanland, have repeatedly waited in vain for buses this winter. The reason is that Västmanlands Lokaltrafik (VL) reroutes buses when winter road conditions are assessed as risky. Pendlars like Mikael Bede report that the bus is scheduled in the app but does not arrive.
Bede, who has lived in the area for 15 years, experiences bus traffic as increasingly unreliable. VL states that safety is prioritized and wants the specific road section to be upgraded by Trafikverket, which is responsible for road maintenance. VL's operations manager for planning and development, Mats Ellman, says there may be occasional similar issues on other roads in Västmanland but is not aware of any other road with the same problem.
