Brynäs won 2-1 against Luleå in Luleå, Sweden, in the second match of the SDHL semifinal series on Friday. Noora Tulus scored the winning goal for Brynäs with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Brynäs now leads the series 2-0 after also winning the first match 3-2.
Luleå risks missing the SDHL final for the first time since 2017, having been in the final every year since then and won six Swedish championships. After the match, Luleå's captain Johanna Fällman reportedly expressed frustration in an interview with SDHL, saying she was angry and that it was poor at the end, before throwing headphones and leaving the interview. The next match is scheduled in Gävle on Monday, where Brynäs can secure a spot in the final with a win.
