The victim has been named in multiple reports as Harrison Hanley, a 20-year-old swimming instructor from West Derby, Liverpool. His body was discovered by a maintenance worker on the morning of April 25 at the Parque Santiago 2 apartment complex on Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina. An inquest held at Gerard Majella Courthouse in Liverpool heard that Hanley is believed to have fallen from an internal balcony, possibly a stairwell.
Senior coroner André Rebello stated that Harrison suffered trauma from a fall from an internal balcony and died instantly. The coroner recorded the death as accidental, adding that there is no evidence of anything but a tragic accident. The Spanish death certificate noted traumatic shock due to polytrauma caused by precipitation.
A friend told GB News that Hanley was described as the 'biggest personality in any room'. St Sebastian's Catholic Primary School paid tribute to Harrison Hanley, with a school spokesperson describing him as having an infectious personality and living out the school motto. A book of condolences and a balloon release were held in his memory.

In another separate incident, a fellow British tourist was severely injured after a railing reportedly broke away.
