  • The incident involved a confrontation at Tiana's Bayou Adventure, with the victim and a witness providing accounts of physical altercation.
  • Newman has pleaded not guilty, been released on bail, and faces potential legal penalties if convicted.

The incident occurred on February 20 at the Tiana's Bayou Adventure ride in Disney's Magic Kingdom, according to an arrest affidavit filed with the Orange County Court in Florida. Newman, 47, was waiting in line when he allegedly put out his arm to stop the 18-year-old girl. The victim stated she was trying to catch up with the rest of her group who were already in the queue, and as she and her friend were walking through the line passing people, Newman put his hands out trying to stop her from moving forward.

She told him she was just trying to catch up with her group, which was not too far ahead, but he still kept his hand out to stop her. According to the victim's account, she tried to go around Newman but he pushed her back with both hands. She fell backwards into her friend and her water bottle spilled all over her friend when he pushed her back.

I hope this sends a message that it's never OK to put your hands on someone else except for self-defence, especially somebody a lot younger than you and from the opposite sex.

The girl's friend told police that Newman had told them there was a queue when they tried to go past. The friend said Newman pushed the victim with one hand, but she wouldn't let him move her, so he used two hands. Officer Richard Schorr stated that the victim told him she was with a group of family and friends at the time of the confrontation.

Newman was arrested on a battery charge and has pleaded not guilty. He has been released on a $1,000 bail and has returned home to the UK. If convicted, he could face a fine or up to a year in jail.

What specific evidence or witness statements support the battery charge beyond those already documented has not been disclosed, and it is unknown whether there are any security camera recordings of the incident from Disney's Magic Kingdom.

The full identity and background of the victim beyond her age and physical description also remains private.
