Brendan Shinnimin was fined for diving for the fifth time in his SHL career, making him the worst offender in the league's history. He has been penalized for this offense once as a Växjö player and four times while playing for Luleå. According to a compilation by Expressen earlier this season, no other player has been fined for diving more than twice, with Julius Hudacek and Leon Bristedt each penalized twice.
The first diving penalty in the SHL was issued in 2015. SVT Sports expert Jonas Andersson has criticized Shinnimin's diving, calling it pathetic and expressing strong disapproval.
