Police and rescue services were alerted to a fire in a stairwell on Storgatan in Mellerud. The working hypothesis is that someone placed bottles in a parked stroller in the stairwell and set them on fire. When a bottle overheated, it caused an explosion in the stroller.
The stairwell filled with smoke, and one woman at the address attempted to extinguish the fire and inhaled smoke. No other people were injured. Police are filing a report regarding public endangerment.
All residents are being interviewed by police.
