A. is a new crime drama series created by Bill Dubuque, co-creator of Ozark, and will begin streaming exclusively in the UK on May 7. The series follows Etta Tiger Jonze, a young woman in the Florida Keys whose family's drug-running business is shattered by tragedy, forcing her into Miami's underworld.

According to the press release, the nine-episode series stars Shannon Gisela as Etta, with a supporting cast that includes Cary Elwes, Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. Alethea Jones is executive producer and directed the first two episodes, while Karen Campbell is the showrunner, the press release also stated. The remaining episodes are directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Mairzee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl, the studio confirmed.

Jones previously helmed episodes of High Potential and Spider-Noir, according to the press release. The series is described in promotional materials as a gritty crime drama set in Miami. A trailer has been released, Paramount+ announced.

According to posts on X, some viewers have compared the series to a live-action Grand Theft Auto. According to Paramount+, the series comes from creative minds behind Ozark and High Potential. Dubuque also wrote screenplays for The Accountant films and His and Hers, according to his biography.

Shannon Gisela previously did voice work in Strip Law, and Karen Campbell has written for Outlander and Raised By Wolves, as noted in their official bios. Details such as the exact US release date and whether a second season is confirmed remain unknown.
