Barnardo's charity shop in Chippenham will close on May 2 after more than 12 years of trading, according to multiple reports. Meanwhile, Barnardo's shop in Newton Aycliffe is set to close on May 15, multiple reports confirm. The store is offering 75% off from April 30, according to the branch's social media. The exact reason for the Newton Aycliffe closure has not yet been clarified.

Local residents expressed sadness on social media, with one calling the closure "so sad" and another saying they were "gutted" as it was the "best charity shop." It remains unclear how many jobs will be lost or if other Barnardo's shops in the area will be affected.
