A collaboration agreement has been signed to establish Barnahus Blekinge in Karlskrona, Sweden. The facility aims to provide a safe environment and support for children suspected of being victims of crime, particularly violence or sexual offenses. It is a joint effort between the municipalities of the county, the Police Authority, the Prosecution Authority in Karlskrona, and Region Blekinge.
Tobias Ekblad, head of the social and disability support administration at Karlskrona Municipality, stated in a press release that it is high time to offer unified support and prioritize the most vulnerable children in Blekinge. The operation is set to start after the summer.
