Lawsuit by Avicii's Former Manager Against DJ's Family Companies Dismissed

Key Points
  • Avicii's former manager Ash Pournouri's lawsuit against the DJ's family companies has been dismissed.
  • Pournouri filed the lawsuit after being blamed for Avicii's mental health struggles and 2018 suicide.
  • The case was dismissed because the legal application did not meet required standards, according to the defendants' lawyer.

The legal proceedings between Avicii's former manager Arash "Ash" Pournouri and the companies controlled by the late DJ's family have been dismissed, according to Swedish public broadcaster SVT. Pournouri filed the lawsuit last year against the companies associated with Tim "Avicii" Bergling that are controlled by his family. According to Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv, Pournouri initiated the legal action because he had been blamed for Bergling's mental health issues and 2018 suicide.

Thomas Olsson, the lawyer representing the defendant companies, stated that the proceedings were dismissed because the application did not meet the requirements for such a lawsuit. "One can hope that this is a clear message to him to leave this matter behind," Olsson told Aftonbladet. However, according to SVT's report, Pournouri appears to have other plans regarding the matter.
