Senior public prosecutor Jorid Steindal stated: "The police investigation leaves no doubt that the woman was subjected to an attempted murder." The police originally recommended indictment against one of the suspects, but both Steindal and the Director of Public Prosecutions concluded that the evidence is insufficient for prosecution.
