Around 70 motorcycles and ATVs were stolen in Dalarna and other parts of central Sweden. Eight people have been charged in connection with the thefts. According to the investigation, the stolen vehicles were transported to Poland in an organized operation, with the total value estimated at five million kronor.
The case was solved after a man in Leksand had two motorcycles and an ATV stolen; the ATV was equipped with a GPS tracker, allowing the owner to see it traveling south through Poland. Polish police then conducted a raid, resulting in the seizure of 20 stolen vehicles. Using DNA traces, several suspects were linked to the thefts.
