Aston Martin's Formula 1 cars reportedly vibrate so severely that drivers fear they could suffer permanent nerve damage. According to team principal Adrian Newey, Fernando Alonso reportedly feels he cannot complete 25 consecutive laps without risking permanent nerve damage in his hands, while Lance Stroll reportedly believes he cannot do more than 15 laps before reaching a threshold. Newey said the team will need to severely limit how many laps they run in the season-opening race in Melbourne until they can identify the source of the vibrations and improve them.
The team hesitated about attending the race but is now present. Aston Martin ran the fewest laps of any team during testing in Bahrain in February due to the issues.
