According to police, eighteen cars were vandalized in a short time in Västervik. Police see it as a series of crimes connected to each other. The vandalism occurred last week at three different locations: at the municipal building on Fabriksgatan, on Stationsgatan, and at Ljungheden.

" Four of the cars belong to Västervik municipality. Police and the municipality security coordinator say there is no threat specifically directed at the municipality. Authorities note it is an unusually high number, although there have been periods of similar vandalism earlier in the municipality.

In previous cases, two perpetrators were caught, who were people not mentally well. The identity of those responsible for the recent incidents remains unknown, and the motive behind the vandalism has not been determined. Municipality security coordinator Anna Norlin commented on the community impact, saying, "This is spinning in people's heads, just during the time we've stood here talking, several people have come out to check on their cars and I understand that.
