Right-wing commentator and comedian Aron Flam has been charged with unlawful threats and harassment against Green Party politician Marie Åkesdotter following a heated exchange on social media platform X. According to reports from TV4 Nyheterna and Expressen, the charges stem from messages Flam sent to Åkesdotter in July last year during a dispute about the Gaza war.
Prosecutors allege that Flam told Åkesdotter he had her home address and urged her to take her own life. The messages reportedly included statements such as 'Now I have your home address' and suggestions that she should 'drink caustic soda' and 'cut your wrists.' Flam also allegedly called Åkesdotter 'nazi,' 'Hamasgroupie,' 'judehatare' (Jew-hater), and 'nazistfitta.'
Now I have your home address
Marie Åkesdotter, a local politician for the Green Party in Tyresö, described the experience as 'very unpleasant' and 'terrible.' She told Expressen she reported Flam because 'this was so serious' and removed her public contact information from the internet following the incident. 'I thought about it for a day before reporting, because it comes with a price,' she said.
Aron Flam, who has over 80,000 followers on X, denies the messages constituted threats. He told Expressen, 'I have not threatened her. She has not perceived it as a threat.' However, he acknowledged the statements were 'very inappropriate' and expressed regret for how he expressed himself.

The prosecutor contends that mentioning Åkesdotter's home address was intended to violate her 'peace in a noticeable way,' leading to charges of both unlawful threats and harassment. A trial is reportedly scheduled for August.
