Stockholm-born architect Hans Tirsén has died at the age of 83, according to memorial notices published by colleagues and friends. Tirsén, who grew up in Stockholm, the Stockholm archipelago, and Värmland, studied architecture at KTH in Stockholm in the mid-1960s. He began his career working primarily on housing projects.
In 1976, he was reportedly offered by his then-employer FFNS Arkitekter to establish a local office in Luleå. Colleagues and friends expressed their sorrow and loss in memorial notices published in Swedish newspapers, remembering him as both a colleague and friend. The memorials were signed by multiple colleagues including Lars Wredendal, Lars Werner, Elsmarie Knobloch, Susanne Lundin, and Bengt Aili, as well as partners and employees who helped start Tirsén & Aili Arkitekter.
