The Swedish Work Environment Authority has identified health risks for staff working in home care services in the Föllinge and Offerdal areas of Sweden, according to a report from Östersunds-Posten. The authority conducted an inspection of the municipally-run home care services in these communities, which are operated by Krokoms municipality. The inspection reportedly found deficiencies that could potentially lead to health issues for care workers.
Krokoms municipality now needs to address these shortcomings. If the deficiencies are not corrected, the municipality reportedly risks receiving a formal injunction or prohibition order from the Work Environment Authority. The inspection focused on home care services that are directly managed by the municipality rather than contracted out to private providers.
