Anton Frondell, an 18-year-old Swedish hockey player, is set to join the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks organization. According to reports, head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed that Frondell will travel to the United States soon, with flight details still being worked out. Frondell's season in Sweden recently ended after his team, Djurgården, was eliminated from the SM playoffs in Malmö.
He was drafted third overall by Chicago in the NHL draft last summer. Blashill reportedly stated that Frondell could make his NHL debut as early as next week, citing his performance level throughout the year and the lack of training time at this point in the season. The coach added that he is the type to throw players into the action immediately and that Frondell will reportedly play with good players in a good environment.
