Antikrundan announces 38th season tour with new format
Key Points
  • Antikrundan's 38th season tour will visit five cities in August with a new format of three episodes per location.
  • Karlstad is a tour stop for the third time, with previous visits in 1993 and 2016.
  • The program will be held at Mariebergsskogen in Karlstad for the first time, where a 15th-century lice comb was valued during the last visit.

The popular antique valuation program Antikrundan will launch its 38th season with a tour in August, according to official sources. This season is described as a journey through some of Sweden's most appreciated summer places, as stated by the program. A key change for the upcoming season is that production will record three episodes in each city instead of two, a new feature aimed at enhancing the experience.

Karlstad has been selected as one of the cities for this year's tour, official sources confirm. This visit will be the third time Antikrundan has stopped in Karlstad, following previous visits in 1993 and 2016. The recurrence underscores the city's historical significance as a tour destination for the program.

It will be the third time we visit Karlstad and it will be so fun to come back to the city where the sun always shines! Last time I remember it was raining, but the turnout was very large. Then we valued, among other things, a lice comb from the 15th century that was still, incredibly, intact. Mariebergsskogen is very beautiful so just pack the coffee basket and bring your old things. With us we have Sweden's best antique experts.

For the first time, Antikrundan will be held at Mariebergsskogen in Karlstad, according to official information. During the last visit to Karlstad, a 15th-century lice comb was valued, which was still intact, as reported by the program. Anna Lööf Falkman, CEO of Mariebergsskogen, expressed enthusiasm about the event, hoping many Värmlanders would participate. Pernilla Månsson Colt, producer for Antikrundan, noted the excitement of returning to Karlstad and highlighted the venue's beauty.

The program format remains consistent, with each episode lasting about 45 minutes, as per official sources. The full tour schedule includes Västerås on August 19, Karlstad on August 21, Göteborg on August 23, Kalmar on August 28, and Lund on August 30, according to the program's plan. Pernilla Månsson Colt explained that the expanded episode count allows for closer engagement with each location and audience, creating more dynamics. Host Anne Lundberg expressed anticipation for the summer stops, emphasizing each city's unique feel.

It feels very exciting to be able to make three episodes in each city. It gives us the opportunity to get closer to both the place and the audience. With this setup, we can create even more dynamics and variation at each stop - and let each city really set its own mark.

Specific details about what items or antiques will be featured in the Karlstad episodes have not been disclosed. Additionally, the number of people expected to attend the event in Karlstad remains unknown, and it is unclear whether there will be any special guests or experts at the recording. The exact schedule for the public to bring items for valuation in Karlstad has not been announced, and how the three-episode format will differ in content from the previous two-episode format is yet to be detailed.

These are places where a lot happens in the summer, and I really look forward to this round. Each stop has its own feeling, and that is what we want to highlight.
