Anders "Ante" Karlsson is reportedly set to return to Linköping, Sweden, as the head coach of the hockey club LHC. According to reports to Expressen, the 56-year-old is the club's main candidate for the head coach role, and if nothing unexpected happens, an agreement is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks. Karlsson previously served as a coach in Linköping and spent last season as an assistant coach with the Finnish team Tappara.
Linköping has had a difficult season, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year, and changes are expected on both the player and leadership sides. Expressen has previously reported that head coach Mikael "Musse" Håkanson is leaving his role, and assistant coach Magnus Johansson is also expected to step down entirely from the staff. The plan is reportedly for Mattias Zackrisson to assist Karlsson, and Mikael Håkanson may remain in an assistant role, though details regarding responsibilities and contract length are still being negotiated.
Karlsson was also considered by Modo, but they have chosen other options.
