The relatives of ambulance paramedic Helena Löfgren, who was murdered in Harmånger in September, have appealed the sentence in her case to Sweden's Supreme Court. According to reports, the 26-year-old man convicted of the murder, Liam Hast, was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the district court, and the Court of Appeal confirmed the sentence in February.

In the appeal to the Supreme Court, the victim's representative Sarah Moghadasi is requesting that the court grant leave to appeal and change the sentence to life imprisonment. Neither the prosecutor nor the convicted man has filed any appeal against the sentence.

The murder occurred while Löfgren was on duty as an ambulance paramedic in Harmånger. The case has now entered its final legal phase as the Supreme Court considers whether to hear the relatives' appeal for a harsher sentence.
