Key Points
  • Alpaca exhibition held in Nyköping with 15 breeders and about 50 alpacas
  • Judging by an English expert due to lack of Nordic judges, focusing on wool as key criterion
  • Daniel Johnsén won first prize in his first exhibition appearance

Alpaca breeders from across the country had the chance to meet in Nyköping this weekend for an alpaca exhibition. Breeders at the exhibition had the opportunity to have their alpacas judged by a judge from England, as there are no Nordic judges for alpaca assessments. The judge assessed how the animals walk, stand, and how their bodies look, but the most important aspect is the wool.

Some breeders had shown their animals before at such events, while for Daniel Johnsén from Borås, it was his first time showing his animals at such an event. Daniel Johnsén won first prize in the 'black adult stallion' class.

I want to see how my stallions measure up.
