According to multiple reports, Wilkie auditioned for the role through her dance school. The film follows warring Scottish brothers battling over their whisky distillery and stars Brian Cox, Alan Cumming, Alexandra Shipp, and Shirley Henderson. Wilkie was nine when she auditioned and is now 11.
Her character Sasha speaks with a North American accent. According to Daily Mail - Home, Wilkie described Cox as 'so nice and so welcoming' and different from some characters he has played. Her mother, Kim Wilkie, told the same outlet that Cox and his wife Nicole 'loved her instantly' and praised her accent.
It was the last stage of the auditions and I just went in and they started talking to me. He is so nice and so welcoming and just so different to some of the characters he’s played.
Wilkie also attended the Palm Springs Film Festival earlier in 2025.
As soon as she met Brian Cox and his wife Nicole they just loved her instantly.
Nicole and Brian still talk about how good her accent is throughout it.
Him and his wife Nicole are just scooping her up like she was their own granddaughter. I felt so safe that I really could leave her with them instantly. They were so genuine and really caring, nothing like we thought they would be.
