Alex Ciernik has signed an NHL contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. The 21-year-old forward played for Nybro Vikings in HockeyAllsvenskan this season. He reportedly had a challenging season, scoring five points in 21 games for Nybro after returning from a stint with Pelicans in Liiga, where he had three points in 19 games.
Ciernik's season ended early due to a concussion in late January. The Philadelphia Flyers drafted him in the fourth round over three years ago. It remains unclear if he will join the Flyers next season.
Ciernik previously played for teams including Södertälje and Västervik before his time in Nybro.
