  • Aitch compares The Assembly hotseat to I'm A Celebrity's Bushtucker Trial
  • Aitch denies romance with Shona McGarty, says he has a 'soft spot'
  • Aitch shares story of defending his sister with Down's syndrome

Aitch said the hotseat on The Assembly is 'more intense' than a Bushtucker Trial on I'm A Celebrity, according to the rapper. 'I sweated more in that chair than I did in my whole time in Australia – put it that way,' he said. Aitch secured fourth place in the recent series of I'm A Celebrity in Australia, while Shona McGarty finished third.

Romance speculation between the pair emerged while the show was broadcasting, Aitch said. He confessed to having a 'soft spot' for McGarty, but she dismissed the rumours as 'rubbish', saying she is like his older sister. During The Assembly, Aitch was asked about EastEnders and whether he was flirting with Whitney, McGarty's character. He insisted he was not flirting and confirmed he has not gone out with her.

I would actually say it's more intense in the Assembly hotseat than a Bushtucker Trial. I really don't know why but I sweated more in that chair than I did in my whole time in Australia – put it that way.

Aitch also spoke about his sister Gracie, who has Down's syndrome. He revealed he confronted a fellow student who mocked his sister and physically assaulted him. 'I definitely don't condone no violence, but no one can say that about anyone's brother or sister,' he said.

In another segment, Sir Lenny Henry was asked a personal question about his relationship with his girlfriend of 13 years, Lisa Makin. Interviewer Mikey asked: 'Why haven't you put a ring on it then?' Henry, previously married to Dawn French from 1974 to 2010, groaned and put his head in his hands.

I think out of Ed Sheeran, Anne-Marie and Ashanti, Ed Sheeran would be an amazing guest on The Assembly. He's just a good person, he brings good vibes no matter where he is. I can't lie, I would definitely be locking into that episode solely for entertainment purposes. I feel like it would be a good laugh.

Aitch's episode of The Assembly will broadcast on ITV1 at 10.05pm on Wednesday (April 22), according to the network. He said Ed Sheeran would be an amazing guest on the show, calling him 'a good person' who brings good vibes.

I mean, I'm like over 10 years older than him, and also honestly the rumours are rubbish. He is like my little brother, I was like his older sister, and we just had the same energy level. We were hyper and silly, and that's why we got on.

Shona McGarty, EastEnders actress and former I'm A Celebrity contestant

I wasn't flirting with her.

Aitch, Rapper

I've not gone out with her, no.

Aitch, Rapper

One time actually, he was pretending to be me rapping and then said a line about my sister that I didn't really like. And if you want me to keep it absolutely real with everyone, I [saw] him a couple days after in college, and I absolutely f***** him up.

Aitch, Rapper

I definitely [don't] condone no violence, but no one can say that about anyone's brother or sister... One person, and he'll never do it again, I promise you that.
