A 75-year-old woman died in a snowmobile accident near Marsliden, Sweden, according to police. The incident occurred on Monday near the western parts of Västa Marssjön, where the woman had been ice fishing with others.

Police investigator Fredrik Skytt stated that evidence suggests the crash was an accident rather than a crime. "Everything points to it being an accident and not a crime," Skytt said.

Witnesses reported seeing the woman leave the ice on her snowmobile and drive into the forest. Others in her group followed her tracks and found her lifeless body approximately 150 meters into the woods, next to her snowmobile which was against a tree.

The police initially classified the case as traffic negligence but now believe it was a tragic accident. The snowmobile has been seized for technical examination, and the woman's body will undergo a forensic autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
