A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for raping a girl at a schoolyard in Eskilstuna. According to court documents, the incident occurred at Slottsskolan during the night of November 1 last year, when police were alerted to an ongoing rape.
The victim was a girl under 15 years old who was intoxicated at the time of the assault. The district court found that the man exploited the girl's vulnerable situation due to her intoxication. Despite maintaining his innocence and claiming the sexual encounter was consensual, the man was convicted based on what the prosecutor described as strong evidence, including multiple witnesses to the event.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered the man to pay 270,000 kronor in damages to the victim. The 37-year-old was arrested at the scene following the police response and was remanded in custody the following day. The sentence was handed down on Monday, March 24, 2026.
