A 14-year-old boy has confessed to firing three fatal shots that killed a 28-year-old man in the Ektorp district of Norrköping last September, according to court proceedings that began on February 28, 2026. The youth also admitted to planning to shoot a man at a gym in central Norrköping approximately three weeks later.

Several other young people are suspected of involvement in the attempted murder at the gym, including three boys aged 15, 17, and 18, and an 18-year-old girl.

Police investigator Jan Staaf, criminal commissioner and investigation leader at Norrköping police, stated that it was 'extremely important' to arrest the young suspect quickly, describing him as 'dangerous' and noting that more serious crimes could have occurred.
