According to Norrköpings Tidningar, less than a month after the murder, the same boy attempted another murder at a gym in central Norrköping, where he entered with the intention of shooting another person. The boy was arrested following this second incident.

In a related development, another 14-year-old boy was found guilty of aiding and abetting the murder, while a 17-year-old was acquitted of attempted murder charges.
