A 14-year-old boy has confessed to firing three fatal shots that killed a 28-year-old man in the Ektorp district of Norrköping last September, according to court proceedings that began on February 28, 2026. The youth also admitted to planning to shoot a man at a gym in central Norrköping approximately three weeks later.
Chief prosecutor Robert Eriksson has filed a so-called evidence hearing against the 14-year-old for murder, attempted murder, serious weapons offenses, arson, and drug offenses. The victim, who was killed on September 20, was struck by three shots to the head, neck, and chest, all of which were fatal according to forensic examination.

Another 14-year-old boy from Finspång municipality is suspected of recruitment, planning, and handling money in the murder case, though he denies the charges. Police investigator Jan Staaf, criminal commissioner and investigation leader at Norrköping police, stated that it was 'extremely important' to arrest the young suspect quickly, describing him as 'dangerous' and noting that more serious crimes could have occurred.
