A series of fatal incidents on the M6 motorway and other major roads across the UK have led to extended closures and ongoing police investigations, with one death near Warrington, a critical injury at Charnock Richard, and a separate fatality on the M80 in Scotland.

Two men have been sentenced for stealing thousands of pounds worth of tyres in Warrington, following a dangerous police pursuit across motorways that involved three forces.
