Baidu robotaxi system malfunction strands over 100 vehicles in Wuhan traffic

A system malfunction caused more than 100 of Baidu's Apollo Go self-driving taxis to freeze in traffic in Wuhan late Tuesday, stranding passengers for over 90 minutes and disrupting major roads in what is reported as China's first mass robotaxi shutdown. Police confirmed no injuries, with passengers able to exit safely, but the incident has raised safety concerns amid the rapid expansion of autonomous ride-hailing services.
