Pope Leo XIV has appointed Evelio Menjivar-Ayala, an El Salvador-born immigrant advocate who opposed Trump's immigration crackdown, as bishop of Wheeling-Charleston in West Virginia, reports say. He crossed into the U.S. illegally in 1990 after fleeing civil war.
