Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea and are in contact with his representatives about a deal, according to reports in France. PSG believe Fernandez has the ability and character to thrive for the Champions League holders. However, there is no indication that Chelsea would be prepared to discuss a deal for Fernandez. Failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League could convince Fernandez to quit Chelsea.
Enzo Fernandez has been a mainstay in the Chelsea team since his £107m move from Benfica in 2023, making 157 appearances for the Blues. He helped Chelsea qualify for the Champions League last season and win both the Conference League and Club World Cup, and is contracted to Chelsea until 2032. Fernandez has scored five goals since Enzo Maresca’s departure. When asked about his future at Chelsea, he said he would see after the World Cup. Fernandez admitted he would like to live in Madrid amid speculation of a summer move to Real Madrid.
Chelsea are keeping tabs on Crystal Palace and England star Adam Wharton as a possible replacement for Enzo Fernandez. Manchester United have shown serious interest in Adam Wharton, and Real Madrid are also admirers of him. Chelsea have been given hope of signing Adam Wharton as Manchester United view Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali as better fits. Adam Wharton is keen to play in the Champions League should he leave Crystal Palace.
Elliot Anderson remains Manchester United’s No. 1 choice for the midfield position. Manchester City are confident of striking a deal for Elliot Anderson.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Valentin Barco ahead of the summer transfer window. Valentin Barco joined Strasbourg on a permanent deal for a fee of €10million (£8.7m) last summer following an initial loan move from Brighton, and has made 37 appearances and chipped in with two goals for Strasbourg. It is now up to Chelsea to decide if or when to proceed with the Valentin Barco deal. Barco struggled to make a significant impact at Brighton after arriving in 2024, making only seven Premier League appearances, and his current contract with Strasbourg is not due to expire until June 2029.
Alejandro Garnacho completed a move from Manchester United to Chelsea back in the summer. Garnacho's future at Chelsea appears increasingly in doubt, with the Blues already casting their eye over potential targets. In his 21 Premier League appearances this season, Garnacho has found the net just once, and he has seen his playing time diminish under Liam Rosenior compared to Enzo Maresca. Chelsea are pushing on with plans to sign a forward capable of operating on the left flank in the summer. Reports emerging from Argentina claim that Garnacho is firmly in River Plate's sights, and River Plate are hoping to secure him on a one-year loan.
Real Madrid are closer to signing Enzo Fernandez than Manchester City’s Rodri. Rodri opened the door for a move to Real Madrid and made it clear he is keen to return to La Liga. Chelsea are sixth in the Premier League, six points outside the top-four places with seven games remaining.
Chelsea want to sign a central defender in the summer. Murillo, Jarrad Branthwaite and Jan Paul van Hecke are on Chelsea's radar for a central defender signing.
