Nyckelpunkter
  • Houthis declare readiness to join Israel-US-Iran war under specific conditions
  • Recent military actions by Israel, USA, and Iran have escalated tensions
  • Houthis are part of Iran's 'Axis of Resistance' and control much of Yemen

The Houthi militia says they are ready to enter the war between Israel, the USA, and Iran. A Houthi spokesperson stated the group will intervene on Iran's side if new allies join Israel and the USA, and will also enter the war if attacks are launched against Iran from the Red Sea. Recent military actions have heightened tensions.

On February 28, Israel and the USA carried out a coordinated attack against Iran, according to multiple reports. Israel and the USA have also attacked targets in Lebanon, sources said. After the attack, Iran has carried out several counterattacks against Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, and Israel, multiple reports indicate.

The Houthis are one of several terrorist organizations that are part of Iran's 'Axis of Resistance,' which also includes Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Shiite militias in Iraq, according to major media. They control one-third of Yemen and up to 80 percent of its population, major media reports. This group emerged from a bloody civil war in Yemen that started in 2014 when the Houthi guerrilla took the capital Sana, multiple reports state.

This led to a coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervening to support the internationally recognized government, sources said.
