In northern Sweden, two 19-year-old men, residing in Västernorrland and Västmanland, have been detained suspected of rape of a child in a village outside Piteå. They planned the crime by renting a cottage in a village outside Piteå. The two were deprived of liberty during the night to Saturday and later arrested. Anna Bergström, head of the prosecutor's chamber in Luleå, confirms that two men have been arrested and that the crime classification is attempted rape of a child. According to updates, one of the 19-year-old men has been released, while the other is being requested for renewed detention pending test results. Separately, on-call prosecutor Rickard Finnberg requests two men be detained for rape of a child in a village south of Luleå.
In a separate case, a Piteå resident in his 60s has been detained by Luleå District Court on probable grounds suspected of aggravated rape.
