Eight days later, another woman was bitten in both thighs and one forearm while walking near a grill hut where the dog and its handler were present, as reported by officials. The exact dates of the attacks and the specific municipality near Umeå where they occurred have not been disclosed.
Police responded to the scene and an officer used a body camera to film the dog, officials said. In a report, the police officer described that the woman needed to struggle to hold the dog back as it tried to attack. Umeå District Court wrote that the video clearly shows the dog was very aggressive and made advances toward the police.
The woman handling the dog has largely admitted to the course of events, according to official sources. Her explanation for the dog's behavior is that it must have been surprised by the walking woman and her companion. She has also accepted the description of the first incident, officials confirmed.
The identity or name of the dog handler remains unknown. The handler was sentenced to 80 day fines, officials reported. After both incidents, the County Administrative Board decided that the dog should be taken into custody and euthanized.
