Russia expresses concern over NATO military presence in Greenland

Russia has reportedly expressed concern over NATO's military buildup in Greenland. According to statements from the Russian embassy in Belgium, where NATO is headquartered, Moscow is "seriously concerned" about the situation in "the higher latitudes." The embassy claims that NATO is increasing its military presence on the island "under the false pretext that there is a growing threat from Moscow and Beijing." Meanwhile, Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated after a meeting that there is no imminent threat from China or Russia that cannot be handled, and he noted that it is clear that U.S. President Donald Trump wants to "conquer" Greenland.
