IFK Norrköping defender Max Watson commits to club after relegation

Max Watson, a defender for IFK Norrköping, has stated his intention to stay with the club following its relegation from Allsvenskan. The relegation occurred after a playoff loss to Örgryte IS last fall. Watson, who has a contract through 2026, praised new head coach Eldar Abulic, who replaced Martin Falk, saying he likes Abulic's playing style, which reportedly focuses on behaviors, responsibility, high pressing, and dominating matches. Watson, 29, has played 58 of 60 Allsvenskan matches over the past two seasons since joining in 2024, scoring two goals in 30 matches last season. He acknowledged that other clubs have reportedly contacted him and that situations can change quickly, but for now, he is focused on his contract with IFK Norrköping. Watson reflected on the relegation, describing it as tough but a learning experience.
