The Swedish hockey club HV71 in Jönköping is taking action against increased hate and threats directed at its employees, reportedly due to poor results in the SHL. The club's acting sports director, Fredrik Stillman, has gone on sick leave with symptoms of exhaustion, partly because of these threats, according to reports. Club chairman Anna-Lena Isaksson stated that HV71 will have zero tolerance and will report any hate or threats that cross the line directly to the police. The club is currently near the bottom of the SHL standings and is heading toward a relegation playoff for the third consecutive year. Richard Nylin, the club director who is leaving his role, said that Stillman's sick leave is indefinite, with a follow-up planned after about a month. The club is reportedly looking to quickly appoint a replacement for sports responsibilities, aiming to have someone in place as soon as possible, possibly by next week. Both Stillman and former sports director Björn Liljander are on sick leave indefinitely from HV71.
